Malaysia Esports Asian Games 2026 Medal Table

Bernama reported that Malaysia completed its esports campaign with one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. The national squad entered nine of the 11 esports events and reached the five-medal target set before the Games.

The Malaysia esports Asian Games 2026 haul came from five different competitions. Gran Turismo 7 supplied the gold, eFootball and Honor of Kings delivered silver, while Identity V and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang contributed bronze.

5 Historic Medal Wins for Malaysia

1. Gran Turismo 7 Delivered a Historic Gold

Taj Izrin Aiman Taj Madira became Malaysia’s first esports athlete to win an Asian Games gold medal. Bernama’s report on the victory says the 27-year-old produced disciplined driving across three races at Aichi Sky Expo.

The result was the defining achievement of the Malaysia esports Asian Games 2026 campaign. Saudi Arabia’s Naif Abdulhakim S. Alfaleh took silver and South Korea’s Kim Youngchan won bronze, leaving Taj Izrin at the top of an international sim-racing podium.

2. eFootball Added the First Silver Medal

Malaysia reached the eFootball final against Iran. Farish Luzman won the opening mobile-platform match 2–1, but Iran recovered in the console segment and completed a 4–2 aggregate victory.

Muhammad Hariz Hazmi Hakimin and Farish still secured silver for Malaysia on the same day as Taj Izrin’s GT7 gold.

3. Honor of Kings Reached the Final

Malaysia’s Honor of Kings squad earned the second silver medal after reaching the final against China. The Malaysian roster featured Chen Tat Yann, Lim Chee Hong, Chong Han Hui, Ryan Na Jie Rong, and captain Lee Han Siang.

China won the final 4–0, but Malaysia’s route to the title match added another team-game medal to the Malaysia esports Asian Games 2026 total.

4. Identity V Secured Bronze on Its Asiad Debut

The Identity V team finished with bronze after a 2–0 semifinal loss to Japan. Malaysia remained competitive in the second round, earning a 4–4 draw before Japan controlled the decider.

Captain Gan Hoon Ming described the match as valuable experience for a squad making its Asian Games debut. The team’s medal expanded Malaysia’s success beyond racing, football simulation, and multiplayer battle arena titles into an asymmetrical competitive game.

5. MLBB Completed the Five-Medal Haul

Malaysia’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team added the fifth medal after losing 2–0 to eventual champion Myanmar in the semifinals. Malaysia had previously topped Group B and swept Jordan in the quarterfinals before the medal-stage defeat.

The full match path is covered in Ganker Guild’s Malaysia MLBB Asian Games 2026 results analysis. The official MOONTON Games tournament report confirms Myanmar won gold, Indonesia silver, and Malaysia and Mongolia bronze.

Why the Five Malaysia Esports Medals Matter

Before the competition, the Malaysia Esports Federation targeted at least five medals from nine entered events. The final Malaysia esports Asian Games 2026 result met that target exactly, but the composition of the haul is as important as the total.

Malaysia medalled in an individual racing event, a two-player football competition, and three team-based games. That distribution suggests competitive depth across different skills rather than a single exceptional result carrying the programme.

The gold also improved on Malaysia’s previous Asian Games esports record. At Hangzhou 2022, Malaysia earned silver in Arena of Valor and bronze in Dota 2. Aichi-Nagoya added the country’s first gold and increased the total number of medal-winning events.

What the Malaysia Esports Asian Games 2026 Results Show

The five medals came from distinct competitive pathways. GT7 rewarded precision and consistency across races. eFootball combined mobile and console performance. Honor of Kings and MLBB tested five-player coordination, while Identity V used an asymmetrical team format.

That variety makes the Malaysia esports Asian Games 2026 outcome useful when evaluating the national scene. It shows where Malaysia reached finals, converted opportunities into medals, and still faced stronger regional opponents.

The Next Competitive Cycle for Malaysia

The Asian Games campaign is complete, so the immediate task is to evaluate preparation rather than rewrite the results. Silver-medal finalists can study the gap to Iran and China, while the Identity V and MLBB squads can review the semifinal decisions that prevented a place in the finals.

For fans, the Malaysia esports Asian Games 2026 campaign ends with an accurate summary: Taj Izrin won gold, eFootball and Honor of Kings claimed silver, and Identity V and MLBB secured bronze.
